PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA, FEB 07, 2011-Cambodian Foreign Affair Minister on Monday calls on foreign diplomatic representatives to Cambodia to inform them the recent aggression of Thailand against Cambodia through army means.

Addressing to reporters after the meetings, including five representative of the United Nations Security Council—United State, Russia, China, France and England, Hor Namhong said that he had informed them the current situation as Thailand used heavy weapons to Cambodia leaving causalities and evacuation.

Cambodia FM said the skirmish was due to Thailand’s use of unilateral map claiming a 4.6 kilometer square surrounding Preah Vihear temple, a UN’s world heritage site, belongs to them, adding the last week military exercise leading the gun fire outbreak, adding that the exercise was not the military practice but the show of military strength to Cambodia.

However, he informed the representatives, absence of Thai ambassador to Cambodia, that Cambodia and Thailand already had internationally-recognized map made by Franco-Siemese joint commission in 1900s.

Cambodian and Thai FMs agreed to ceasefire the day of gunfire in February 4.

He said, “At this point, we have no more negotiation [with Thailand] as we wait a decision made by United Nations Security Council.”

Hor Namhong considered Thailand’s aggression as a hungry man of war.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen sent a letter to Maria head of UNSC to hold an urgent meeting of the council to put an end to the aggression concerning peace and stability in the region..
